Logical Data Modeler:
Core Responsibilities include:
- Enterprise Information Needs Analysis and Assessment
- Develop/Update Reference Logical Data Models to support complex data centric envisioning and application release decisions.
- Interview business and IT subject matter experts and map their requirements into Conceptual andLogical Data Models
- Ability to produce models in terms that the business can understand
- Other Data analysis tasks including:
- Source system analysis
- Data profiling
- Prepare slides and documents for data model reviews and participate in those reviews
- Identify Opportunities to unify disparate but common data concepts across Enterprise
- Evangelize Data modeling concepts and Influence adoption with BPU projects and cross-organization transformational initiatives.
- Work with appropriate business and IT leads to incorporate EDM alignment into roadmaps
Core skills:
Mandatory: Significant experience developing and maintaining complex Logical Data Models
- Both business models as well as meta-data models for dynamic rules
- Ability to drive proper level of abstraction once explicit business entities understood
- Ability to take iterative (Agile) approach to modeling and best determine what points of the model need flex (abstraction) versus what needs explicit fixed modeling
- Service (canonical) schema definition
Understanding of Logical and Physical data modeling and implementation (better if the candidate has software development background and system engineering experience)
- Understanding of Process Models (Preferably familiar with BPMN notation)
- Ability to read and understand business process and to map them into logical data models
- Program Management
- System Integration
- Familiarity with standards taxonomies, and metadata
- Experience with ER/Studio would be a plus
- Familiar with maturity models and CMMI a plus
Experience in physical or BI data modeling is not enough. Candidate should have experience developing Logical Data models.

- Show iterative progress and summarize complex tasks
- Deal with ambiguity
- Effectively communicate across disciplines with right level of conversation
- Superb communication both written and verbal.
- Ability to carry out interviews asking the necessary questions to gather and understand business requirements
- Outstanding problem solving skills and passion to solve hard problems.
- Ability to work independently, collaborating across multiple teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related sciences required.
- 10+ years of work experience
- Microsoft experience would be a plus, but not mandatory
